Story of Serial Killers: Zodiac Killer

Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who operated in Northern California area. This killer in action around the year 1960 - an, so the story has long been passable. Zodiac killer's identity is not known until today. Where did this serial killer got his nickname as "The Zodiac Killer"? Zodiac killer coined the name because of the frequent occurrence of the mention of the Zodiac in a series of letters sent to local news media.


No one knows who sent it, which obviously, in the letters were stored cryptogram and ciphers are confusing. Three of the letters that have not been resolved to date. Allegedly the letters came from the Zodiac killer.

Victims of the Zodiac killer killed in four different places, including Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco. Four men and three women were estimated to be 16-29 years become victims between December 1968 and October 1969.

A number of suspects have been stipulated by law enforcement, but there is not enough evidence to prove that they are the culprit. San Francisco police closed the case in 2004 because of a deadlock in the investigation, but the case was reopened in 2007.

The case was also reopened in the town Vallejo, Napa County, and Solano County. Even the California Department of Justice has maintained the case since 1969. In a letter sent to local newspapers, the author claims to have made a killing as many as 37 times. However, after an investigation, there are only seven known victims, even the two of them survived.
